Jeremy Lin-Sanity Hits Letterman With Punny Top 10 List

We've heard just about all the puns you can hear with the Jeremy Lin story. Linderella, Linsanity, Lintendo...you get the picture.

David Letterman came up with a very strong Top 10 list of Jeremy Lin's worst puns. One of my favorites...Law and Order, Criminal Lintent.

Ramon Ortiz Gets Giants Invite For Spring Training

The San Francisco Giants tweeted that they have invited pitcher Ramon Ortiz to Spring Training this year. He hasn't done a whole heck of a lot in his career. His best year came when the Giants faced him when he was with the Angels in the 2002 World Series, when he went 15-9. The good news is that he isn't afraid to throw a pitch in any count, and he can still throw some heat. The bad-he can't throw to left handed pitching and he gives up too may home runs. Maybe like a Javier Lopez specialty bullpen guy going after right handers only?

Will Ferrell Gives the Starting Lineup Last Night and It's Hilarious

Will Ferrell for some reason did the starting lineup for the New Orleans Hornets last night as the faced the Chicago Bulls. The players seemed to enjoy it, except when their name was mocked. Derrick Rose's favorite movie is "The Notebook?" Hilarious.

Jeremy Lin Lives On His Brothers Couch In New York

Jeremy Lin, who has been one of the more fun stories of the last couple of weeks, doesn't actually have a place to live in New York. The Knicks guard, who has averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 assists and two steals the last couple of games is staying with his brother where he "has his own couch" for several months! I'm sure many fantasy owners and New Yorkers agree that he should stay there, don't break what doesn't need fixing, and if there's a dumpster available, maybe he should sleep in that. Maybe he could go for 40 a game...which makes me wonder, what if LeBron James were staying on a couch?

Alright, I guess Lin may be finding a place soon. He didn't have a guaranteed contract with the Knicks, which may explain why he's been unreal. It's good to see the former Golden State Warrior fan favorite doing well. Now, Lin's deal is in place for $800,000. Maybe that will get him two couches in New York.

Kevin Durant Not Impressed With Blake Griffin's Dunk

Ok, come on. Somebody wake up Kevin Durant, pour a bucket of water down on him ala Flashdance, and tell him Blake Griffin's dunk WAS awesome. he's in sheer denial, because it was against his team, the almighty Oklahoma City Thunder. He says, "I have no appreciation for it at all. It was a layup, I think. He threw the ball in and got fouled and made his free throw, so it was three points at the end of the day." Really? Even LeBron James after making dunk of the year the night before was man enough about Blake earning the title on Twitter.

Some might say Durant is a great teammate. I think he's getting more and more cranky the longer he's in the NBA. Have some fun why don't you?

Kyle Williams Dad Says Kyle Had An Injured Shoulder
altText
Does it wreak of spin when Kyle Williams father, Kenny comes out to the press to tell them Kyle had an injured shoulder? Even if that were true, using it as an excuse for the two fumbles really seems like no one wants to take responsibility, or at least the Dad doesn't.

At this point in the season, everybody is playing hurt, besides what does a hurt shoulder have to do with a ball bouncing off your knee? Or, diving for a ball you barely held on to? Or, not protecting the ball, waiving it from side to side on the last run back. I think, even Kyle himself wouldn't blame it on the injury. A father protecting his kid I guess.

UPDATE: Kyle Williams Dad had this quote, despite blaming it on his shoulder. "That information he has not said anything about publicly and will not because he felt strongly that he could get the job done. There are no excuses; we don't do that. I don't want that misconstrued."

Take a look at the pics. It's sure to disgust you

Giants Canty on 49ers Game-"This is Going to Be a Bloodbath"
altText
If you're looking for a cutsy 49ers/Giants contest on Sunday, think again. Both sides think it's going to get physical. Just ask defensive lineman Chris Canty. He thinks it could get real ugly, especially in the rain.

Hue Jackson Out As Oakland Raiders Coach
altText
Hue Jackson is out as Oakland Raiders coach according to ESPN. Jackson said that new GM Reggie McKenzie said he wanted to bring in his own guys and start from scratch. Those guys could be Packers asstistant head coach Winston Moss and Packers secondary coach Darren Perry. We're not sure if some of Jackson's dealings with players led to his dismissal. The Raiders press conference is still set for 2pm today.

Terrell Owens to the 49ers? Bad Idea
altText
T.O. tweets to former Buffalo teammate Donte Whitner that he wants to "take 'em deep" in a 49ers uniform. Whitner replies "I'm ready to vouch for you and let them know how great of a teammate you were in Buffalo." I want to know what Ryan Fitzpatrick thinks of T.O. Would he vouch for him?
The 49ers can't and won't do this and for good reason. The list is long, but let's point out a couple of the most obvious things. Alex Smith despite his lack of an arm and consistent passing ability, plus injuries is a Pro Bowl calaber quarterback. Jim Harbaugh has been building him up every week. All it takes is one of T.O.'s meltdowns to have all of that destroyed. All you need is bad locker room chemistry taking over, with all of the focus from the press on that issue, during a playoff run.

Let's also not forget that no general manager in football showed up for T.O.'s scrimmage a few months back. An aging veteran with knee issues is certainly not something to experiment with at this juncture either. I would take a guy who's hungry that knows the playbook and has worked with Alex Smith before in a guy like Joe Hastings any day of the week, over Owens.
